Thanks to the generous financial support of Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH, we had the wonderful opportunity to present our own booth in the OpenScience Area at the EMC in Copenhagen in August 2024. At the heart of our presentation was the TV MiniSem by ISI/Akashi from 1978. The overwhelming interest in our project, particularly in our restored and fully functional tabletop electron microscope, was truly remarkable and captivated many attendees.
During the event, numerous in-depth conversations took place, especially with Lukas Bochtler and Philipp Hörauf. These discussions highlighted the great interest and enthusiasm for our ambitious endeavor. The high level of expertise and vast knowledge of our team were repeatedly praised in these exchanges.
It was a great honor for us to present our unique project to a broad international audience. Particularly motivating was the fact that representatives from the five largest manufacturing companies—Carl Zeiss Microscopy, Hitachi, JEOL, ThermoFisher, and TESCAN—gathered for a group photo at our stand. This demonstrates the broad support and shared commitment to advancing this extraordinary project.
Our goal is to officially open the museum in time for the 100th anniversary of the invention of the electron microscope in 2031, preserving this significant piece of scientific history for future generations.
